So, clothes and accessories and jewelry are all the big outfit-makers, and are certainly crucial for daily style. One other major player that we haven’t touched on much is hair. Chances are, you’re a busy gal, whether you work full time, run a household (or both!), or just have too many interests and things to do to spend much time on your hair each morning. We feel you, which is why we are going to help you reinvent the ponytail. Yep, you heard us, the plain ol’ ponytail. Couldn’t be simpler!
Here are some tips and tricks we’ve found to give the everyday ponytail a boost:
- Make two. First gather the top half of your hair in a ponytail at about the height of your ears. Then gather the lower portion of hair into a second elastic, and secure an inch or two beneath the first ponytail. Tease the hair on top and arrange to fall fully over the second ponytail to create the illusion of one longer, fuller updo. Genius, right?
- Twist and tie. Section off two parts of hair at the sides of your head behind your ears. Wrap one over the remainder of your hair, and the other over both. Secure underneath with a rubber band and tease or fluff at the top. Super simple and super polished!
- Tease and twist. Tease the hair at the crown and gather into a high ponytail, leaving a small section out on the side. Using a volumizing spray or even just a regular hair comb, brush the hair back towards the elastic to create so body. Wrap the remaining piece of hair around the elastic to hide it, and secure with a bobby pin.
- Wear earrings. Nothing dresses up a boring hairdo like a great pair of pearls. When in doubt, pearl studs are always the way to go as they brighten the complexion and make your face look more alert, not to mention the added sophistication they bring to any look.
