Summer vacay is rapidly approaching, and we don’t know about you, but our feet are NOT spotlight ready. Here’s our pedi-plan to start the season with our best foot forward:
- DIY Summer Foot Soak
Sometimes, it’s best to take matters into your own hands. With this easy soak, your feet will get the rejuvenation they’ve been craving without breaking the bank. Seriously, give it a try; you won’t regret it.
DIY SUMMER FOOT SOAK
1/4 cup listerine
1/4 cup vinegar
1/2 cup warm water
Soak for 10 minutes and voila!
- DIY Sugar Scrub
After your soak, the dead skin on your feet will be soft and easy to wipe off. Here’s where a salt or sugar scrub comes in handy. You can buy something off the shelf or make your own. We love this simple formula: 2:1 sugar to coconut oil. You can add a few drops of vanilla extract or your favorite essential oil for scent, and you’re done! Added benefit: coconut oil is a moisturizer that is both antibacterial and antifungal. Use this bad boy on your whole body for soft, smooth, healthy skin all year round.
- Pedicure
Like we said before, some things are worth doing on your own. Sometimes it’s fun to be pampered though, and here’s where we’d splurge a bit. Since your feet are already silky smooth, look for a salon that offers a discounted price just for polish. Choose a bold color that you wouldn’t necessarily use on your fingers. Go with some girlfriends and treat yourself to brunch or cocktails while you’re out.
- Jewelry
This is the fun part. Whether you choose a delicate chain, multiple chunky anklets or a toe ring, foot jewelry is a total must this season!
- Shoes
While flip flops are usually legit in summertime, some occasions call for more sophisticated footwear. Sometimes all it takes is a fancier flip flop or sandals, but don’t forget your heeled sandals, peep toe pumps and of course, espadrilles!
We’re pumped (get it, pumped?) to get started on this, and we hope you are too!
Until next time,
P&C
