We all know that wearing classy, higher-quality shoes can literally take an outfit from meh to fabulous. Of course, heels always look great, but let’s be honest: looking great feels good for a few minutes, but then the initial excitements wears off and you’re just left feeling sore and anxious to take those darn shoes off. And who needs extra stress in their daily life?
Luckily, in winter, heels aren’t usually even relevant. In fact, if you’re not wearing boots most days, you’re missing out! Perfect for cold or wet days and ultra fashionable, boots are a season essential. And this month, riding boots are everywhere. Warm, comfortable, flattering and stylish, riding boots are also super versatile, pairing well with jeans, leggings, skirts and dresses. They immediately add some sophistication to an ensemble, and fit over leggings, jeans, tights or boot socks depending on the venue and temperatures you’re dressing for.
One particular favorite of ours here at Pearl & Clasp is: thick black leggings, riding boots, an oversized sweater or tunic, a blazer or cardigan, and a big warm scarf. For accessories, choose simple pearl earrings, some dark nail polish and light, winter-friendly makeup. Don’t forget a messy updo to complete the look!
If you’re looking for something a little flirtier, an a-line skirt or skater dress paired with a belt, tights, riding boots and a cozy cardigan will do the trick. Add jewelry, red lipstick, some bracelets and a great bag. Voila!
In slightly warmer weather, pair your riding boots with skinny jeans and a half-tucked shirt for a bit of sophisticated flare. Layer with a blazer or a scarf in case things get chilly!
Riding boots come in lots of different colors and styles. Choose a pair in a neutral color such as blank or brown, and keep hardware subtle for a classy look. A small buckle or tie is just enough to make your shoes look unique and tailored without losing their flexibility and elegance.
