Well, she’s done it again. The famous Kardashion-West we love to hate (and sometimes hate to love) has outdone every single other high-fashion, rap star loving, bootylicious pearl wearing celebrity with her most recent magazine cover for Paper Magazine. And the headline says it all. She broke the internet.
That being said, she’s not the first celeb to bare it all for magazine covers, and definitely not the first to wear our favorite accessory as her…erm…only attire on the cover either. So in honor of Kim K., we decided to take a look back at our favorite, most glam magazine covers featuring stars clad in only pearl jewelry.
Nicole Kidman has never been afraid to bare it all, and her Harper’s Bazaar magazine cover is no exception. Choosing to be a little more modest than her other pearl-clad peers, Kidman wore this endless strand on Harper’s Bazaar 10 year anniversary issue.
On this cover of Glamour Magazine, Rihanna shows some skin and shows off some pearls in this chic, high-fashion shoot. I guess celebrities have proven time and time again that there’s no need to wear high-fashion clothes for a high-fashion shoot. Our favorite part? The details — specifically, her pearl-adorned sandals.
It’s no secret we LOVE Queen Bey, and it’s also no secret that she LOVES pearls. In this cover, for OUT magazine, Beyonce ditches her top and wears a simple pearl necklace mixed with other, metal jewelry. Between the luminescence of the pearls and her gorgeous, glamorous makeup, Bey definitely exudes Power in this cover.
Mariah Carey isn’t afraid to take it all off, and this risk-ay cover for Wonderland is just disturbing enough to make you wonder what she plans to use that pearl necklace for. We love you, Mariah…but we aren’t sure we love this look.
Well, there you have it. From tame to artsy to just plain baaad, our favorite magazine covers with celebs wearing pearls. Want to re-create these looks, but with more clothing? Pearl & Clasp’s mystery pearls are exactly what you need to get these sexy, sultry looks…that are appropriate to wear in the street.
What do you think of KiKi’s mag cover? We think we prefer the one with clothes!! And we wish we had that kind of talent…
Until next time,
