The stars are out once again and they’re oh so glamorous! Our jewel obsession has been rewarded with the recent appearances on the red carpet, and we can’t decide whose look we liked the best.
At the Met Gala, dramatic earrings were definitely a leading trend. We couldn’t look away from Lizzy Caplan’s swaying Jack Vartanian chandelier earrings- they were so very unique! Not to mention her intricately knotted gown, which paid tribute to our favorite gem- the pearl!
Emily Blunt’s style also wowed us, with her large diamond and sapphire Anna Hu earrings and matching Prada gown. We love how the earrings looked next to her red lipstick and sleek updo!
Alicia Keys also chose blue for her ensemble, but her oversized sapphire dragonfly ring certainly made an original statement. We think her neckline could have used a boost, though, with a subtle necklace like this one.
Olivia Munn looked classic as always, choosing to accent her black and red gown with red lips and matching oversized diamond floral earrings and ring. Sienna Miller also wore black and red, but chose an edgier look, with a tassled pant suit and matching tassle earrings.
The Cannes Film Festival also featured some stunning jewelry choices. Diane Kruger was bejeweled perfection in her Deco halter dress, Harry Winston jewels and sapphire blue clutch, and Naomi Watts accented her Giorgio Armani Privé gown perfectly with some classic diamond drop earrings. In fact, Naomi Watts may have our vote for Best Dressed at the festival with her ethereal gowns and breathtaking jewels.
Michelle Rodriguez also hit the mark with her gorgeous necklace and rings. Nothing says class like a floor length black gown and diamonds. Rachel Weisz, in black as well, wore minimal jewelry. We think her earrings would have looked great with another accessory, perhaps a bracelet or clutch like the one Miranda Kerr was sporting.
Other favorites were Lupita Nyong’o, who looked amazing in a jade Gucci dress and Chopard jewelry, and Natalie Portman in red Dior and de Grisogono jewels.
