Casual spring styles are fun and generally easy to emulate, but here at Pearl & Clasp we keep our eye on the stars because we are just OBSESSED with red carpet ensembles. With so many events this season, we can’t wait to see our favorite celebs rocking gorgeous spring attire.
Let’s take a look at some trends from the Academy Awards… You should definately try these at home!
Lace Paneling
Popular on spring runways, lace and lace paneling can add both romance or a bit of spice to an outfit. Light and breezy, lace is perfect for hot days Check out Jennifer Lawrence’s jaw-dropping, daring black gown and Rooney Mara’s classic white number from the Oscars. We love both takes on the trend, do you?
Red-Hot Red
Color plays a significant role in spring and summer wardrobes, and Charlize Theron and Olivia Munn didn’t hold back with their red carpet selections. In fact- they matched the carpet, in the best possible way! We love Olivia Munn’s orange-red Stella McCartney one-shouldered gown, matching lipstick and sleek updo, and recommend that you dare to wear red this season too!
Pastels
Other celebs opted for softer spring colors, and the red carpet was dotted with beautiful pastel hues and floral motifs. Emily Blunt looked stunning in a rosy blush dress that highlighted her blossoming baby bump, while Daisy Ridley, Cate Blanchett and Alicia Vikander wore gorgeous shades of blue, sage green and yellow. Pastels look amazing with pearl jewelry, so don’t forget to add a nice pair of stud earrings or a bracelet to your copy-cat look!
Thigh- High Slits
Trending for years now, high-slit dresses made several striking appearances at the Oscars this year. Rachel McAdams, Sophie Turner, Rooney Mara and Jennifer Garner all wore variations on the style, showing off their toned legs and seriously enviable shoes. If you haven’t gotten your island tan this early in the season, try a style similar to Jennifer Garner’s dress, which featured a wrap slit that hinted at, rather than revealed, her long legs.
These trends are all gorgeous and perfect for parties and other special occasions, but can be adjusted to fit every-day wardrobes as well. T-shirts with lace panels, bright orange and red tops paired with white jeans, and pastel colored sun dresses are all season staples that you can try!
Until next time,
