Ahhhh spring! We know, we’re obsessed, but… we just LOVE this season! So fresh, clean, green and gorgeous, it’s really so hard to resist all of the styles that are blossoming now. Now that the chill is finally leaving, one of our absolute favorite items is about to become more practical: the dress. So simple and easy, the right dress is often all you need to make your look. From fun to flirty to romantic, dresses are ultra-feminine and flattering, and obviously a MUST HAVE for spring and summer. Want to know which are trending now? Check it out:
The Sleeveless Dress
Not quite a tank dress (which we’ll get to in a moment), the sleeveless dress is a bit more modest with old-time class. Generally showcasing a higher neckline, the sleeveless dress is sophisticated and elegant, and pairs perfectly with pearl jewelry. Add an updo and nude pumps, heeled sandals or ballet flats for a finished look.
The Tank Dress
More casual and lightweight, the tank dress is a great option for a day where you’ll be wandering to and from the beach or boardwalk. Breezy and fun, the tank dress looks great when paired with a belt or worn alone, and can also be worn under a light jacket or sweater if the weather or winds are iffy in your area. Add sunglasses, flip flops and a wide-brimmed hat to channel your inner California girl.
The Shirtdress
Super popular this year, the shirtdress is versatile and fun without being too tight or revealing. Dress yours up with some ballet flats, earrings and a clutch, or down with some white sneakers, sunglasses and an over-the-shoulder bag. Big hoop earrings or bangles also look great with dresses like this.
The Bodycon
Sexy and sleek, the bodycon dress is a good option if you plan to be indoors or to be out later in the evening. Keep your look classy by sticking with the legs/cleavage rule: the longer the hemline, the lower the neck, and the higher the hemline, the higher the neck. Choose something sleeveless with a boat or bateau neckline for a night-time event, or something with short or long sleeves for a more casual look. Bodycon dresses come in all different colors, fabrics and styles, so be sure to try yours on before buying it to make sure it flatters your figure.
